Yeko Ladzekpo-Cole is our 3rd guest teacher this quarter. Born into a family of drummers, dancers, and composers from the country of Ghana, West Africa, Yeko delivers a fun filled class that will transport you and connect you to African roots.

Yeko Ladzekpo-Cole has been dancing since the age of 3. Born into a family of drummers, dancers, and composers from the country of Ghana, West Africa. She has continued to carry on the tradition of performing and teaching the various styles of West African Music and Dance. With a Bachelor's degree in Dance from California Institute of the Arts, she has pursued her love for dance trough many different avenues, and has worked under the direction of Debbie Allen, Lula Washington and other well known choreographers in the dance world. Some of Yeko’s notable performances include: 50th anniversary of the Grammy Music Awards, Gala party for the Lion King movie, Madagascar II Escape to Africa, 2010 World Cup anthem, Waka Waka with Shakira.

Yeko Ladzekpo Cole’s style is a hybrid representation of her life influences in World Music & dance, as well as Hip Hop and contemporary movement styles.
