How These 10 Colors Affect You

Last blog was the introduction to this fascinating topic of how colors psychologically, emotionally, and physically affect us. In this article we are taking a closer look at 9 colors and how they can heal us.

GUIDE TO HEALING COLORS:

Color therapy can help us to release anxiety, ease depression, and better connect with ourselves. Researchers at Berkeley suggest that the correlation between color and music is synesthesia— meaning that one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. This process invites us into a field of charm, where we are surrounded by and experiencing more and more symbiotic vibrations. This process is instant medicine. Light rays dilate the blood vessels, increase red blood cells, destroy bacteria, increase active tissue cells and collagen between tissues in bones and increase the oxidizing power of blood.

Using natural resources like light, color and sound rejuvenate our daily experience. Use the color wheel to notice your own response to each color, and invite yourself into a renewal of all vibrant life forces.

How colors affect us

Since the energy of color is conveyed by the perceiver, no one experiences the vibration of color in the exact same way. Different frequencies of light (the colors) will affect different energies of the body. Certain colors can more easily affect the higher frequencies of the brain because they have a higher light wave frequency. Other colors can affect bodily systems or energies that operate at slower rates because they have a lower frequency. Color motivated behavior varies person to person and hue to hue. The context of color palatability is up to you! Use this infographic to learn more about your psychology of color. Lean into the color that is speaking to you when you want to experience your energy/emotions without needing to producing sound.

Black also contains the entire light spectrum. It is protective and can be used to ground and calm hypersensitive individuals. Too much black can cause depression or aggravate such emotional/mental conditions. Black is most effective when used in conjunction with white, which helps to balance the polarities of the individual.
