Continue to Learn- inside BRAVE Challenge

Alexandria Kaye
On Week 4 of our BRAVE Challenge we got to chat with Christina Grady on INSTAGRAM LIVE. We uploaded the video to YouTube and posted it below for those who do not have an IG account.
Christina I have had an extensive amount of experience on stage and off together. From meeting through the girl group of Nikki 16, we sang and danced our way through performances for labels like Universal, Interscope along with countless promo shows and hours in the studio with artists like Missy Elliot and Chris Brown. This was all while having to keep a roof over their head touring as dancers, backing up artists like Keri Hilson, and Nicki Minaj. Check out some of our favorite projects we worked on together below.

We soaked in every opportunity and always strived to show up as our best selves, training behind the scenes with vocal coaches, dance classes and even in sauna suits at the gym. We got a little obsessive and the hustle and grind definitely took a toll on us at times. Our support for one another’s dreams and drive during this time was unparalleled. In the end we proved to ourselves that we had the capacity to flourish and continuously grow as artists.
During our chat with Christina Grady, she shared with us her secrets on how to stay a student and CONTINUE TO LEARN. As a dancer and artist, she has grown so much by using the technology we are gifted with, as an opportunity for improvement. Growing up in dance, we “couldn’t see receipts of our career.” Now that we can, she uses that as a way to see where she can improve. She takes notes and studies herself. Not leading with criticism, but continuing to find growth and be more in tune with her body. Even being at a professional level, it is so important to turn inward and see where we still have room for improvement.
“You have to be able to watch back or look at your notes and find where you can do better. That discipline, is the discipline of a great.”
–Alex Kaye
Get your notebooks out NOT your phones…
She encourages everyone to be who they are to the core, and not to let social media tell you who you should be.
“If anything, utilise the platforms to study the greats.”
All of her advice can be used in any profession. Continue being inspired and having fun with what you are doing. If you’re not having fun then why are you doing it. It won’t serve you and lead to great results. There are greats in every industry, the only way to be the next one is to continue to be in training.

COMING SOON!
Christina leads with being a student because, “the second you stop learning, you stop being your best self.” Follow it up by discovering your talent, working hard and always being kind to yourself and others on the way to reaching your goals.
This won’t be the last you hear of us with Christina Grady. She is a force to be reckoned with and does everything with humility and grace. She practices what she preaches and is a great leader in her industry paving the way for younger generations to thrive.
